Manon at only four years old has had an interesting but sad background. At one point she must have been someone’s pet but found herself homeless, family in tow. Hungry and with winter coming, she found a human who feed her family and asked us to help them.
During this time Manon give birth to at least two litters. The only known surviving offspring from her oldest litter is Puddin’ who is very bonded to her. You can see the love as Puddin’ arches her back against Manon and wraps her tail around her and helped her raise her second litter. Manon was first to come around. It didn’t take long for her to enjoy having her head and ears scratched. She is quick to arch her back and purr in response to being petted. Manon has ‘learned’ to play and loves running through her tunnel trying to catch the feather wand. Generally, Manon is a quiet and easy going cat. Daughter Puddin’ being raised in the wild was very feral when she came into foster care. From being terrified of people, Puddin’ is now a very playful cat who loves playing with her caregiver or by herself. When frightened or unsure she is quick to find a spot to hide. Quick movements, loud noises and change tends to cause this response as she is still getting used to life inside where she is much safer. We know with time she will continue to settle and become more relaxed as the years pass.
Puddin’ loves to be petted and stroked. Unlike her mom she is more reticent and standoffish with strangers. But once you win her trust she is a big suck who enjoys attention. Because Puddin’ is bonded with Manon and clearly finds comfort with her they are being adopted as a bonded pair. Puddin’ and Manon will require a special family that understands these two have been through a lot and require time to bond to anyone new and continued love and patience so that they can finally feel safe and loved forever. They will give this back 10 fold and are such special, loving, playful girls. Check out videos of them here:
