Art 4 Animals (A4A) was started in July 2016 by an aspiring artist who was working as a Registered Veterinary Technician at a clinic specializing in serving low income families, animal shelters, and a range of animal rescue organizations. She has a great passion for Canadian artists and envisioned creating an organization that supported artists, disadvantaged people, and animals.
A4A works with all forms of art including, but not limited to:
- Physical artists
- Writers, and performers
- Crafters and handmade products
We try to support local artists and crafters through promotion and unique opportunities to showcase and sell their work.
We also share a portion of our funds with like-minded charities and not-for-profits that share our vision and principles.
In November 2017, the Art 4 Animals Adoption Centre opened in Oxbury Mall in London (at Oxford and Highbury). In Feburary of 2020 we moved our centre to the current location of 38 Adelaide Street North, Unit #3. At our Centre, we have for sell local art and crafts. We also have a charity shop in which you pay by donation of what you think that item is worth, you never know what treasure you will find!! We also accept items for our store (no clothing or large furniture), and display rescued cats that are available for adoption. The Centre is open the LAST Saturday of each month from 10am-2pm.
We will also hosts workshops where the artist can come in and teach what they create, while they can bring in their items for sale to be displayed on a table for them in the Centre. This helps our local artists, for us to share their talent.
A4A acknowledges its dedicated administrators and volunteers (many commit full time hours) who share a passion for focusing on our unique undertaking. We are building our infrastructure and education programs to teach Canadians how they can be a part of the change that is needed.
